Red White & Blue Rice Krispie Treats With Salted Brown Butter. Um YUMMM | The Milton Moms

I love to cook and bake, ESPECIALLY for holidays. But, sometimes it is just too hot to even imagine baking a cake. That’s why I am excited to share this no bake treat that is such a crowd pleaser for everyone! I love that it’s elevated a bit for the grown ups too.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup (1 stick)  of butter

1 10oz bag of marshmallows- I like to use minis because they melt easier!

1/4 teaspoon of course sea salt (be generous)

6 cups of Rice Krispies Cereal- Make sure you get the red, white and blue kind!

Directions:

Butter an 8×8 pan. I like this size because it makes the treats extra thick. YUM

In a large pot, melt the butter over medium- low heat. Stir and watch carefully to make sure the butter doesn’t burn. You want it to turn a light brown and have a nutty aroma. If it burns, start over or you will regret it. Trust me I have learned the hard way. Take off the heat and stir in your marshmallows until well blended and smooth. Add your salt, and the cereal and mix until it is all combined. Spread evenly into your greased pan. Press firmly using your fingers to even it out and spread into the corners. Let cool then cut & serve!
