Rice Krispie Trees! | The Milton Moms

I am not a pinterest mom. I aspire to be but really who has the time. So instead, I have set out to create things that LOOK good but take up far less time. These are the perfect quick treat to bring to the kids’ Christmas concert, or to a holiday party! Just watch out for the green food coloring 🙂

ingredients:

6 cups of Rice Krispie Cereal

1 bag (10 oz) of marshmallows (I like to use the little ones for easy mixing)

3 Tablespoons of butter

Pretzel Sticks

Cooking Spray

Sprinkles

Green Food Coloring

directions:

Grease a 9×13 baking pan and set aside.

Melt butter in a medium sauce pan over low heat. Slowly add marshmallows and stir until combined and smooth. Add green food coloring and mix. Repeat until you reach your desired green coloring. Note- I used about half a bottle! Off the heat, slowly fold in Rice Krispie cereal until it is coated with the marshmallow mixture.

Press mixture into your baking pan. Decorate with colored sprinkles until your heart is content! Coat a spoon or your hands with some baking spray and really press it down. You want it to be in there pretty tightly so you can cut easily later. Let sit at least 30 minutes to cool.

Later, gently remove Rice Krispie Trees and slide on to a cutting board. Cut in half the long way so you have two BIG strips of treats. Cut each piece into small triangles. I got about 10 on each side. Holding the base of each treat, gently insert pretzel into the bottom. And there you go! Trees for everyone.

Happy Holidays!
